Celebrating 12

Yesterday was my daughter's 12th birthday.  Like every year, I wonder how she's grown so much so fast.  We usually have the kids choose a restaurant for dinner to celebrate, but this year we're having them choose a meal that I can fix at home for them.  So I spent most of yesterday baking her favorite cake, Poppyseed, and cooking/preparing the ingredients for her favorite sweet pork salad (a copycat version of Cafe Rio's salad).


After dinner I took this picture to not only fulfill my photo-a-day challenge but also to capture an image of the birthday guests who came to help celebrate 12:
